This is it! The Millett Hybrid MiniMAX Printed Circuit Board. TooleAudio has provided the ultimate refinement of the famous Millett Hybrid headphone amplifier originally created by Pete Millett. Full details and building construction may be found on the Millett Hybrid MiniMAX website.
The MiniMAX achieves a new level of performance and integration. The power supply is capable of a tested ~0.046 to 0.056mVAC ripple and noise. In addition, the integration with a custom manufactured, Lansing enclosure is unparalleled. Refer to the MiniMAX website and DIYForums.org for details on the MiniMAX development and the custom case design.
Like the famouse Millett Hybrid MAX that came before it (available on Beezar), the Millett Hybrid MiniMAX board is a complete package all on one board: onboard, linear-regulated power supply, the Millett vacuum tube stage with an improved Constant Current Supply, a full-blown Diamond Buffer output stage with on-board room for extruded heat sinks, and finally, a relay delay to protect your expensive headphones. Only a 24VAC wall transformer is needed to operate a populated board.
The real difference with the MiniMAX vs. the MAX is that the MiniMAX board is slightly smaller, but with significantly less volume. Due to the close integration with the custom case, the MiniMAX is limited to components that are 1" in height or less. Therefore, the MiniMAX is best suited for any of the recommended BJT-type output transistors.
Board Dimensions: 5.275" wide x 5.856" (134mm wide x 149mm)
Board Construction: 2oz copper on an 0.062" (1.6mm) FR4 dielectric
