Gold-plated, nylon filled, with nylon insulators
These are a more common style of RCA jacks intended for the Starving Student Millett Hybrid Beezar-Hammond custom-machined case. You may find a number of different uses for such versatile jacks, however.
Besides coming with insulators, there is a very small connecting tube that accepts up to 22ga wire - but solders easily. This inhibits any heat exposure to the nylon fill. Handy ground rings with soldering tabs are also included and are gold-plated as well.
These jacks come with insulators, but with the negative grounded Starving Student, Millett Hybrid and Millett Hybrid MAX, it's better that they come into contact with the case. We recommend that you scrape slightly around the hole on the inside of your case's backplate to expose the bare metal - that will ensure that the jacks are grounded to your case. However, we recommend that you use the flat insulator on the outside of your backplate. Or, you will find that the hexagonal nut will carve a circle into your backplate's anodizing when you attempt to tighten the jack. Use of the insulator on the outside *only* will still allow for a grounding connection from the inside. In addition, use of the outside insulator actually makes it easier to torque down the jack - without chance of scarring the case.
These are also outstanding for the GrubDAC.
Price is for one pair of black and red jacks.
