SSMH Center Standoff Kit

This kit is specially made for the Starving Student Millett Hybrid PCB amplifier. It is used for the custom Beezar/Hammond case as supplied with the SSMH kits and is designed to mount the PCB to the Hammond case top plate so that the PCB slides into the 3rd slot from the top.

The SSMH center standoff kit contains the following:

1/2" aluminum standoff - 1/4" Hex, 4-40 threads
4-40 x 3/8" Socket Head Cap Screw - SAE black steel
4-40 x 1/4" Socket Head Cap Screw - SAE black steel
M3 flat washer (2)
#4 Flat Washers (2) - 18-8 Stainless Steel
#4 Lock Washer - Stainless Steel, split-ring

The idea is to use the short 1/4" screw, lock washer, and M3 flat washer on the parts side of the PCB (opposite the tube sockets). Then use the lock washer, M3 flat washer and the standoff on the tube socket side of the PCB. The lock washer should keep this assembly tighter than the top screw, which is good - since it will be inaccessible inside the case. Use the 3/8" long screw and a single #4 flat washer on the top of the case. You may or may not need the additional #4 flat washer between the top of the standoff and the underside of the case lid. This all depends on your particular Hammond case and the vagaries of manufacturing tolerances, extrusion warp, etc.

- Socket Head Cap Screws
SPECS: 4-40 x 3/8" and 1/4", Standard Head Style, Alloy Steel, Black Oxide Finish. Hex Socket Drive Size 3/32", Decimal Equivalent-0.094 in. UNC Thread Type, Right Hand Direction, Head Height 0.112 in. Head Dia. 0.183 in. Thread Class 3A, Rockwell Hardness C38-43. Minimum Tensile Strength 180,000 psi, Meets ASME/ANSI B18.3.
- The metric washers are Stainless Steel
SPECS: A2 Stainless Steel (Comparable to 18-8 Stainless Steel), Plain Finish, Fits Bolts Sizes M3, Inside Dia 3.2mm, Outside Dia 7mm, Thickness 0.5mm, Thickness Tolerance +/-0.05 In, Meets/Exceeds DIN 125A.
- The #4 flat washers are 18-8 Stainless Steel
SPECS: 18-8 Stainless Steel, Plain Finish, Fits Bolts Sizes #4, Inside Dia 0.125 In, Outside Dia 0.312 In, Thickness 0.032 In, Thickness Tolerance +/-0.007 In, Rockwell Hardness B70.
- The split-ring lock washer is Stainless Steel for longevity and ruggedness.
SPECS: 0.120 I.D. Standard, 18-8 Stainless Steel, Plain Finish. Fits Bolt Size #4, Inside Dia. 0.120 in., Outside Dia. 0.209 in., Thickness 0.025 in. Rockwell Hardness C35, Application Absorbs Shock and Vibration. Meets/Exceeds ASME B18.21.1.
